Mum
Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about my Mum again. She died in the midst of COVID while gradually decliming with Alzheimers. In the weeks and months prior to her death we had not been able to travel to the UK or visit her in the home for a while. All very distressing for everyone. I found these images that I had experiemented with in happier times when we found a box of old photos of when she was young. She had a couple of favourites and shared the stories behind them. As she was reminiscing I got her to look in the mirror into which I later superimposed a crop of the old images. It looks as if she is seeing her old self. It was a fun project for both of us.
