Artist Statement

My practice is rooted in conceptual and visual art photography, using the medium as a tool to explore what cannot be easily seen. I am interested in visualising internal states such as emotion, memory, and psychological experience, and in translating these invisible elements into tangible images.

Through photography, I seek to transform the mundane and the familiar into something striking and unexpected. Ordinary subjects become sites of tension, ambiguity, and reinterpretation, inviting the viewer to pause and reconsider what they think they recognise.

I frequently use techniques such as layering and double exposure to disrupt conventional readings of an image. These processes allow me to add, obscure, or subvert meaning, creating visual dialogues between multiple elements within a single frame. By challenging surface-level interpretation, my work encourages deeper looking and personal reflection, allowing space for individual emotional responses.

Ultimately, my work aims to bridge the gap between the seen and the unseen, using photography not simply to document reality, but to reimagine it.

I hold an BA (Hons) Degree in Photography from the University of Creative Arts. My work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions.
